Although my family isn't close geographically, we are close emotionally. I think I'm a lot like you in the aspect that I don't like to read about estranged families that aren't as happy as mine was. I also remember how rough high school was for everyone who wasn't perfect. I think it's an important thing to remember when we are teaching that a lot of kids are having a rough time personally, and not just with their studies.
