Re: Shannon's Lens Excerpt

I am curious to know if you have found that a pessimistic lens eases sad endings and makes happy endings better all of the time. I have a somewhat similar lens, yet despite preparing my self for the "worst," I still find my self disappointed when it occurs. So I guess expecting the worst doesn't always prepare me for things to come--in novels or life. I'm interested to know if you find this to be true in your experiences as well.
