I found your lens very interesting. I never thought that optimism and pessimism would affect what you read or how you read things. I suppose those two things do color how you read things, but I am sort of in the middle. When I read I try to be neither pessimistic nor optimistic, I try to feel how the author would want me to feel or how the character feels. I don't psych myself up for a happy ending or prepare myself for a sad ending. I find this far more enjoyable because I get into the characters so much more. Thats why I find myself crying or laughing aloud and generally being satisfied with the ending no matter how it ends. Are there any specific examples you have about how this lens effects your reading choices or how you view a certain book?
