I lived for the Babysitter's Club! I wonder how many little girls out there started their own clubs that lasted about a month :) I too stayed in my familiar reading circle and didn't branch out until I was older. That's one of the reasons that I took this class, I was interested in reading some of the adolescent literature that I might have missed out on. I think part of the reason I stayed with books I was familiar with was because I knew they made me happy, and I didn't want to challenge myself. I also identify with how you relate the characters and emotions you are reading about with your personal situations.
